Tom Adams believes getting a high enough MCAT score for any school is actually a good deal less intimidating than most students think.
It's all a matter of prioritizing the right information, figuring out what you don't know (usually the hardest part), investing enough time, and using good study methods because some are much better than others.
Having scored a 38R:
12 Verbal Reasoning
13 Physical Sciences
13 Biological Sciences
98.6 to 99.0 Percentile overall
on the August 2011 MCAT after a reasonable amount of studying, Tom's working knowledge of MCAT materials is fresh.
In a short amount of time, we'll be able to identify the topics and subtopics in which you're weak and develop a plan to tackle them. With continued awareness and flexibility in responding to obstacles that emerge as we progress, we'll address and overcome otherwise frustrating and potentially overwhelming material.
Where many students might balk, you'll have the strategic tools and techniques to stay focused.
In short, I will not only help you learn the material; I'll help you learn how to learn it.
I used to be a poor studier.
I was a good student because of my wit and hard work; but I didn't become aware of and fully develop my studying capabilities until a couple years into college. Since then, I've come a long way.
For this reason, my greatest strength is in teaching:
Tom has been teaching, tutoring and mentoring students from a variety of backgrounds for over 7 years. He currently teaches a 12th grade neuroscience class and specializes in tutoring MCAT, college and high school students.
After pursuing English, philosophy and the classics for his first couple years in college, Tom quickly developed strong interests in neuroscience, psychology and medicine and decided to pursue a medical career.
He graduated from Pomona College with a BA in Neuroscience and minor in Philosophy. He is currently in the process of applying to medical schools.
Over the past few years, Tom has carried out empirical research projects at The Rockefeller University, shadowed doctors and volunteered in various medical and medical/psychological settings at home and abroad.
Tom Adams is great at what he does and has everything you could possibly want in a MCAT tutor. He has recently taken the exam himself and scored a very impressive 38R.
If you want someone who is going to help you overcome your fears, finally learn all those concepts that you've been struggling with and never seem to make sense you cannot go wrong with Tom.
