Attend Rosalind Franklin to Improve Your Chances for Medical School

As a graduate of the Rosalind Franklin Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences program you will be qualified to apply to medical school and have success. 

This MBS program is great because while you will earn your MBS you can also receive a certificate in one of three areas:

  • Health Administration
  • Health Professions Education
  • Nutrition

You certainly won't find many grad schools offering this type of experience.

Structure

The core curriculum as part of your MBS at Rosalind Franklin requires all students to take the following courses:

Fall Quarter

  • Intro to Interprofessional Healthcare
  • Molecular Cell Biology
  • Medical Biochemistry

Winter Quarter

  • Medical Physiology - A
  • Topics in Physiology - A

Spring Quarter

  • Medical Physiology - B
  • Topics in Physiology - B
  • Neuroscience

Throughout each of your quarters you will also be enrolled in respective courses to fulfill your certificate requirements.

We are definitely in the modern day and age so virtually all of the certificate coursework will be completed online. 

RFUMS is a very diverse campus and you will find that when you take your core courses all of which are on campus there may be students from medicine, podiatry, physician assistant, etc in your classes.

Eligibility

You must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. A requirement of the Rosalind Franklin Biomedical Science program is to have satisfactorily completed the full-year course sequence (including laboratory) of:
  • general chemistry
  • biology
  • organic chemistry
  • physics.
  • biochemistry

There is no minimum test score of MCAT, GRE or DAT you just must present competitive numbers. The same applies for GPA, where admitted students had above 3.0 on both cumulative and science portions respectively.

Be sure you have healthcare experience too, both paid and unpaid is sufficient.

Admission to Rosalind Franklin MBS

  • To apply to RFUMS you are going to need to have your Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
  • You will need to submit an application along with the $75 fee.
  • Three letters of recommendation may include a committee letter
  • Standardized test scores: MCAT, GRE, DAT, PCAT, OAT
  • Official Transcript(s)

Deadlines

Early applications are strongly encouraged, and it is expected all applications including supporting materials and standardized test scores (MCAT) will be received by June 1.
